This serious game for military trauma medical training is now available on the Apple and Android app stores.
January 18, 2023 – (Orlando, FL): Mick Golson, Engineering & Computer Simulations (ECS) president, announced that Tactical Combat Casualty Care Simulation (TC3Sim) has been published to Google Play and the Apple App Store for use by United States (U.S.) military service members. ECS has worked with the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (DEVCOM SC), Simulation and Training Technology Center (STTC) for more than 17 years continuously researching, developing, and enhancing the TC3Sim product line. This is the first time that this serious game, focused on military trauma medical training, has been directly released for service members to use on their own.
TC3Sim focuses on training the critical skills for triage and treatment of trauma injuries and the top preventable causes of death on the battlefield. Military medical educators, combat medics and lifesavers, and military service members, as well as EMTs and clinical providers specializing in trauma medicine, can benefit from this relevant serious game as a supplement to their initial or refresher training, and for providing just-in-time training to deploying service members.
Golson says: “TC3Sim and the related research demonstrate how Warfighters can use immersive military medical training to further enhance their educational experience and learning opportunities. Our ECS team is proud to deploy this product to the app stores so that it is readily available to our military service members in order to train anytime and to potentially save more lives on and off the battlefield.”
While the development of this phase of TC3Sim was completed in 2020, the final publishing to the app stores was completed in late 2022. A military email address is required for the free download.
