January 12, 2021 – (Orlando, FL) – Mick Golson, chief operating officer for Engineering & Computer Simulations (ECS), recently announced that John Jansen has been promoted to Vice President of Contracts. With over 30 years of contracting and management experience and an extensive portfolio of specialized skills in government and military contracts and procurement actions, Jansen will oversee implementation of the firm’s contracts and subcontracts to ensure that all specifications and requirements are met and assist with other related duties.
Golson states: “John has been an invaluable member of the ECS team since 2019. His unique ability to oversee all aspects of the contract and subcontract processes, along with his specialized experience within the government, defense, and technology sectors make him the ideal person to lead this function as we continue to grow and to deliver global training services to military and first responders.”
Jansen’s experience includes issuing, evaluating, awarding, and managing multiple high-dollar, complex, multi-type contracts and delivery orders for all branches of the U.S. Department of Defense, with special emphasis in support of the Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training & Instrumentation (PEO STRI) and various offices within the Air Force in addition to multiple independent and executive agencies, such as NASA, Office of Personnel Management (OPM), National Science Foundation (NSF), Defense Health Agency (DHA), and others. He also supports the line of commercial contracts at ECS for a wide array of industry customers. Jansen performs the critical roles of maintaining the company’s contract compliance and helping reach its growth targets while providing superior contract management support to its current government and commercial customer base.

Jansen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (BSBA), specializing in economics, from the University of Central Florida, as well as a Master of Science degree in contract and acquisition management (MSCA), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Florida Institute of Technology.
