Terrain Generation
ECS understands the challenges and complexities of generating scalable and accurate terrain models for real-time 3D applications. Our engineering teams can draw from a broad range of source data such as DTED, DFAD, DEM, and ESRI’s ArcInfo /ArcView shapefiles. Satellite or aerial images may be used for geographically specific texturing. Customized terrain tiling and hierarchies may be incorporated into the terrain to optimize rendering at run-time.
Level Design
Our level designers specialize in designing, developing and testing rich visual environments that follow the flow and story of a game. Relying on traditional art and architectural backgrounds, our design team works with clients to deliver highly detailed maps that support the vision of the game, the pace of the game and the desired mechanics of game play. Using state of the art development tools, ECS builds visually stunning environments to support different playing styles, skill levels and game types while maintaining a focus on scene composition, structure and lighting.
3D Modeling and Character Generation
The ECS modeling team has years of experience building highly detailed, low polygon models for use in a variety of runtime environments. Models may be built from a wide range of source data and may be delivered with customized hierarchies, node configurations, articulations and file formats. Standard modeling tools include 3D Studio Max, Maya, Zbrush and Kaydara Motion Builder. However other applications are often used as needed.
ECS builds highly accurate 3D digital humans that incorporate realistic body shaping, variable mesh resolutions, photo-realistic skin mapping and FK/IK skeletal systems. ECS employs scalable and re-usable skeletal systems to enable realistic movement for 3D characters. A variety of animation options are available including motion capture, hand animations, layered animations and morph targets.
